LoadProof Video Testimonial – Marlo Gillum, Kenco

Um, my name is Arlo Gillum, I’m the GM of our operation in Dallas, Texas, and we started our loadproof journey in the beginning of 2017. We were having issues with our customers, mainly confidence that we couldn’t prove how we were sending product out the back door. Of course, our innovation labs, Trevor, told us about Loadproof, and we started implementing Loadproof on a smaller scale. We were Loadproofing probably 30% of our orders. The success of it in 2018 was that roughly 95% of all orders going out the door were Loadproofed. Loadproof has helped our customers gain confidence that we’re doing the right things.

Our customers are very dependent on Loadproof, and they know my operating business. Loadproof has helped our customers reduce freight claims and chargebacks by probably about 85-90%. A great deal of the claims that were coming in were reduced, and the chargebacks they had to pay were eliminated, all based on Loadproof. It’s also a great referral for our customers. Not only do they use Loadproof, but they also took the extra step at the beginning of 2017 to integrate Loadproof with the systems they use. Initially, it was just the customer service looking at Loadproof for freight claims and chargebacks, but now their IT department has integrated Loadproof with our accounts receivable department.

So whenever we look at claims, we can get research at the AR level. This eliminates a lot of communication distortions between the third-party logistics company, which is King Code, and my customers. We’re able to focus on operations, and a great deal of those decisions are not even making it to our site anymore. This has been a significant part of our journey in implementing Loadproof. The cost was minimal, the training was straightforward, and the tool is so user-friendly that it was simple to train our customers to own it, as well as internally. Right now, we use Loadproof in two different ways.

When we first started our journey, we had multiple people Loadproofing, and as we saw how strong the tool was, it became part of our operation as a check and balance. It was designated to an associate, and when we implemented Loadproof, we didn’t have to increase headcount or costs. The process is so simple that you can integrate it into your daily operations without increasing costs. This made our world very smooth, and customer confidence grew immensely. Like Trevor said, when we first started using Loadproof, we were only using it on product going out the back door.

Now we’re looking at Loadproof when we have damaged product. We’re able to use Loadproof to document the damaged product, so we have documentation to reference. Our customers can also use it if we’re going through an audit or anything of that nature. Loadproof has played a great role in our operation. In our industry, we had high error rates and were hitting KPIs, but our customers made a lot of noise whenever they received an error. We’ve been able to use Loadproof to prove that the product we shipped was accurately documented, allowing us to expand our business and increase our accuracy.
